America
Two continents and 35 countries.
Expanded explanation
The entry is a correction of usage, not a Binding Chaos concept. Common usage, especially in the United States, treats America as a synonym for one country. Marsh uses it in its geographic sense: the whole of North and South America, dozens of nations, of which the United States is one. The correction connects to a habit throughout her work of refusing an endogroup's claim to speak for a whole, since a single country taking the name of two continents is the linguistic form of a centre treating itself as the whole.
