The Duchin Formula
The Duchin formula divides activists into four types: radicals, idealists, realists and opportunists.

Seductive Coercion
Seduction is coercion through emotional attraction and repulsion.
Radical (activist)
A radical is someone who is truly fighting for fundamental change.
Realist (reflector)
What Duchin calls a realist is a reflector of corporate or government power.
Murmuration
Jazz is a musical murmuration.
Opportunist
They almost never create a movement but are usually credited with it.
Idealist (reflector)
What Duchin calls an idealist is a reflector who is currently attached to the radical idea or leader.
